About the Retreat

Sistra: Beginnings is a restorative retreat with daily spa treatments, optional movement sessions, and a schedule designed to feel supportive rather than full.

Hosted at a thermal spa in Ixtapan, Mexico, the experience centers on access to mineral-rich thermal waters, spa services, nourishing meals, and optional movement sessions. The schedule is full in a supportive way — designed so everything is taken care of, without feeling rushed or demanding.

This is not a self-improvement program or a workshop-heavy retreat. It’s a carefully designed stay focused on comfort, care, and being well looked after at your own pace.

A Seasonal Note

Sistra: Beginnings coincides with spring. The experience is shaped around the elements already present—thermal waters for rest and renewal, and clay for hands-on expression—creating a natural rhythm that reflects the season, and new beginnings.

Connection with Culture

One afternoon includes a pottery-painting session developed with a family-owned studio in Tecomatepec, a nearby town known throughout Mexico for its pottery.

The experience includes a studio tour followed by a relaxed, hands-on experience, offering time to work with pottery in a way that reflects the region’s craft tradition without requiring skill or output.
