Why Sistra?
Sistra comes from sestra—meaning “sister” in many Slavic languages. It’s a word shaped by lineage, memory, and the understanding that who we are is formed in relationship—to one another, and to what came before us.
Sistra was created as a space for women to build and create together—rooted in culture, guided by story, and carried forward through shared experience. It honors the voices, traditions, and wisdom women inherit, while making room for new expression, new work, and new ways of moving through the world, side by side.
